Operation Homefront Launches ‘Start Strong, Stay Strong’ Campaign to Highlight Mission to Strengthen and Support Military Families
Global CPI leader Procter & Gamble signs on as an inaugural partner and U.S. Paralympian and Army veteran, Melissa Stockwell, as brand ambassador.
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Operation Homefront today announces the launch of ‘Start Strong, Stay Strong,’ a new, national campaign designed to bring much-needed attention to the dedicated service of our military families while they serve and the support we – as Americans – can provide to build the stability, connection and comfort that will allow them to start strong in their communities and stay strong for their families throughout their journeys.
For families who serve, so much of military life is about being strong – strong when their loved ones deploy, strong when they relocate, and strong when they start over to transition into civilian communities. Operation Homefront believes that our nation’s military families deserve all the support we – as their friends, neighbors, colleagues and communities – can give to provide them with the best opportunity for a bright future during and after service.
Supported by founding partner, Procter & Gamble (P&G), the ‘Start Strong, Stay Strong’ initiative initially began in 2018 to create a network of support for military moms on military installations, online and in Commissaries and Exchanges around the world.
Today, ‘Start Strong, Stay Strong’ has evolved and is aimed at increasing awareness of Operation Homefront’s impactful mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families and to actively engage Americans with opportunities to celebrate the military families in their community, and to help champion their success.
Two-time U.S. Paralympic athlete, former U.S. Army officer and mom, Melissa Stockwell, joins Operation Homefront and P&G as a brand ambassador for the initiative. “I am excited to join Operation Homefront’s Start Strong, Stay Strong campaign and share my military story, my family life, my Paralympic experience, and my suggestions on how we can all start strong and stay strong,” said Stockwell.
“We are incredibly grateful for Procter & Gamble’s and Melissa Stockwell’s continued support of our important work to help our military families overcome their financial hardships,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president & CEO of Operation Homefront. “Their unwavering commitment to our “start strong, stay strong” philosophy will allow us to broaden our reach and strengthen our ability to meet the needs of this very special and deserving group of our fellow Americans.”
“P&G has been committed to supporting the military community for over 100 years and we are proud to join Operation Homefront on this very important campaign,” said Marc Knowles, Global Military Team Leader at Procter & Gamble. “Through our partnership over the past five years, we have seen firsthand how their programs and services impact the lives of our military families, and together, we will continue to help families Start Strong for themselves so they can Stay Strong for their communities.”
Our nation’s military families deserve every opportunity for a bright future and to know that their fellow Americans are grateful for their service to our country.
