SAN ANTONIO — Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit serving America’s military families® since 2002, announced today that Andre Hawkins has joined the organization as its chief financial & administrative officer. Hawkins will be based in the national headquarters office located in San Antonio, Texas.
“I am thrilled to welcome Andre to the Operation Homefront family as our new Chief Financial and Administrative Officer,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) John I. Pray Jr., president and CEO of Operation Homefront. “An incredibly accomplished professional with a broad background that spans the for-profit, non-profit and audit sectors, Andre is the perfect fit for this key seat position and will be a great addition to our very talented team.”
Hawkins has more than 25 years of professional experience. He most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer for Haverland Carter Lifestyle Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for over seven years. Hawkins also worked at Air Force Villages, Inc., owned his own business Hawkins Enterprises Inc., and was an external auditor for Fisher, Herbst & Kemble PC, all in San Antonio, Texas. He has also held accounting management positions with Texaco Inc. and Alcoa. Hawkins has a Bachelor of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Accounting, from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
With years of experience in results-oriented accounting and financial management in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors, Hawkins will be a great asset to the Operation Homefront team. He possesses the leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively work with all levels of staff and management with expertise in budgets, financial statement analysis, cash forecasts, and audit management.
