Dan Valerio is a retired Assurance and Advisory Partner with more than 37 years of experience serving Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, as well as large private, family-owned, and private-equity-backed organizations. Throughout his career at Ernst & Young, Valerio advised boards, executive teams, and ownership groups on complex business challenges including financial governance, risk management, cybersecurity, international expansion, mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, and cross-border transactions. Known for his practical, solutions-oriented leadership style, he has built a reputation as a trusted advisor who translates complex financial and operational issues into clear, actionable guidance for business leaders. As a lead service partner, Valerio worked with several globally recognized, multi-billion-dollar retail, consumer products, technology, entertainment, and manufacturing companies. He provided strategic guidance on major initiatives such as global expansion efforts, significant private equity transactions, audit and systems readiness programs, and governance best practices. His extensive boardroom experience and commitment to transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability made him a valued counselor to audit committees, management teams, and corporate boards. During his 37-year tenure with Ernst & Young, including 26 years as a partner, Valerio held numerous leadership positions, including Americas Retail and Consumer Products Industry Leader and Central Ohio Office Managing Partner. He also concluded his career leading a team of 700 professionals responsible for internal assurance quality inspections across the firm. A member of the AICPA and Ohio Society of CPAs, Valerio has been an active representative of EY with leading industry organizations and is recognized for his leadership, client service excellence, and deep expertise in governance, risk, and regulatory matters.
