SAN ANTONIO, TX — Operation Homefront is pleased to announce that Tamara Wahl has joined the Operation Homefront team as Director of Major Gifts. Tamara will be responsible for guiding individual major gift efforts, stewarding donors, and closing gifts to Operation Homefront.
Tamara will lead growth in our fundraising efforts enabling even more military families to Start Strong, Stay Strong during their military careers. An accomplished and experienced professional, Tamara has more than 20 years’ experience in sales and management for Fortune 500 companies (Wells Fargo, PepsiCo) and non-profit organizations (several cancer organizations and Prison Fellowship Ministries), especially in establishing and building individual giving programs. She’s managed major giving portfolios of $2million+ annually, has a wealth of long-term relationships she’s built over the years, and a proven track record of success during her 11 years of Development by consistently exceeding philanthropic goals and utilizing creative ideas to raise strategic funds.
At Tamara’s most recent position as Philanthropic Officer at Conquer Cancer, she advanced their mission by developing strategic plans to achieve program goals and directly oversaw all activities related to the Women Who Conquer Cancer program – raising over $4M, cultivating relationships that led to increasing engagement, support, and referrals, identifying donor prospects and stewarding relationships with long-term donors, and securing hosts for five fundraising and cultivation events yearly.
We are excited to welcome Tamara to Operation Homefront. Her vast wealth of knowledge, experience, and successes will be invaluable to Operation Homefront’s mission to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities that they’ve worked so hard to protect.
About Operation Homefront
Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity oversight groups, over 90 percent of Operation Homefront expenditures go directly to programs that support tens of thousands of military families each year. Operation Homefront provides critical financial assistance, transitional and permanent housing and family support services to prevent short-term needs from turning into chronic, long-term struggles. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and the support from thousands of volunteers, Operation Homefront proudly serves America’s military families. For more information, visit OperationHomefront.org.
