Dr. Mike Witt is a seasoned C-level executive with more than 28 years of leadership experience in publicly traded multinational companies operating in highly regulated industries. He is recognized for driving transformational performance across operations, manufacturing, environment, health and safety (EH&S), product innovation, and materials science. Known for building high-performing teams and leveraging advanced AI capabilities to improve quality and safety outcomes, he has successfully led complex global initiatives while collaborating with stakeholders across business, government, academia, investors, and the nonprofit sector.
Witt played a pivotal role in the $130 billion Dow-DuPont merger, leading the integration of EH&S functions for 100,000 employees across three continents. He was selected to represent the global chemical industry in United Nations sustainability and trade negotiations and later assembled and led the team that launched the $1.5 billion Alliance to End Plastic Waste, a cross-industry initiative that now supports more than 70 circular economy projects worldwide. Earlier at Dow, he led innovation and operational excellence programs across multiple industries and gained extensive international leadership experience through a long-term assignment in the Netherlands.
Since 2021, Witt has served as Chief Environment, Quality & Safety Officer for Northrop Grumman, reporting directly to Chair, CEO, and President Kathy Warden. He established and unified the company’s corporate EH&S, energy, and operational risk functions, helping reduce safety incidents, strengthen risk management, and align sustainability and safety goals with executive compensation. A trusted advisor to senior leadership and the Board, he combines operational expertise with strategic vision and holds a TS/SCI security clearance. Witt earned engineering degrees from the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, an MBA in strategy from Northwood University, and is a frequent speaker at leading global business and policy forums.
